Fischer & Lustig in the Nikolaiviertel
The hometown restaurant in Berlin-Mitte
We bring meat & fish to the table.
Regional and traditional – but outside the box thinking.
Welcome to Fischer & Lustig! Taste of home in the Nikolaiviertel.
As the „little sister“ of the well-established Jäger & Lustig in Friedrichshain, which is loved by its guests, the Fischer & Lustig in Berlin Stadtmitte opened in 2022. Here, too, it’s all about consistently regional and seasonal home cooking with unexcited, friendly service.
Whether redfish, traditional Labskaus, ox cheeks, Königsberger Klopse or even the steak – everything is cooked and served with a lot of experience, love and appreciation.
Knowledgeable, down-to-earth, regionally known chefs were brought ashore as the galley crew, who bring with them a wealth of experience from their many years of voyages through national and international waters, which conjure up a „sea“ value in every dish, which is not only visually noticeable on the plate.
The interior design is modern, maritime, rich in detail and really cozy. The beer garden is quiet, with old trees and a view of the Nikolaikirche.

Fischer’s courtyard garden – the insider tip for good food in Berlin
Located in the oldest residential area of Berlin, the Nikolaiviertel – in the middle of the city and yet far away from all the hustle and bustle – they find their place in the courtyard garden of the Fischer & Lustig Restaurant under shady old trees. Welcomed by the sculpture of the „organ man“ – properly dressed in tails and top hat, immerse yourself in an idyllic old town charm that quickly slows and calms you down. The outside world seems almost unreal when you leave the „island“ in the center of Berlin.
The interior – Fischers Stube
Watched benevolently by bull and fish eyes, you dine at Fischer & Lustig under around 800-year-old arcades, some of whose masonry has been exposed and, in combination with chandeliers and parquet floors, conveys a warm ambience. The way to the guest rooms leads past replica fisherman’s cottages and is reminiscent of vacations by the sea. This is how you discover Berlin’s regional fish cuisine in a whole new way.
